This week Perfect Moment Films brings you the ‘Reel’ Wedding of Kenny and Toni. A great, well matched couple who were a pleasure to work with! Congrats guys! Here’s their story…
“My wedding dress was a bespoke made Suzanne Neville Dress which I designed and had made by a Suzanne Neville Stockist which was a little wedding dress boutique in Tutbury called Charlotte Thompson.
My dress budget was doubled and more to get this dress as I really struggled to find something i loved. Everyone i spoke to on the lead up to our wedding expected a hugely massive, diamante encrusted princess style wedding dress so i think i shocked everyone with goosenorge something so simple and plain!
However i’ve got to admit i did love trying on all the massive dresses and i did particularly like one but i just could not see myself stood next to kenny in that style of dress.
All along i was not having a veil, however 2 weeks before I decided I wanted one so again I told Charlotte exactly what i wanted and she made it for me in a matter of days. She was brilliant throughout the whole process.
Kenny’s suit originally was bright navy blue however after trying absolutely every shop we could think off we couldn’t find a waist coat Canada Goose Dame to match and nobody could make us one and turn it around in the short amount of time. This meant plan B which was buying a completely new suit.
We ended up buying a 3 piece Italian Suit from Moss in Derby. The people there were beyond amazing! We had such a laugh every time we went in and the whole process of swapping suits was made so easy.
He wore diamanté Ted Baker Cufflinks with a matching tie pin.
As me and Kenny are only young, we decided to completely change our original plan of a big traditional wedding and keep it to immediate friends and family. We stumbled across Amalfi White in Melbourne and as soon as we walked in we booked the venue.
It was young, fun, quirky and modern. The food was superb and Kat, the wedding co-ordinator, well not enough praise can be given to her. She went above and beyond to bring together our wedding in 3 months and accommodated to the trickiness of Kenny’s football commitments last minute.
This is simple because we kept it simple! We decided we didn’t want a colour such as blue, pink or purple as i have been to so many weddings with a colour scheme so instead we decided on black tux for the men and short black audrey hepburn style dresses for the bridesmaids meaning the only touch of colour was them.
Everything else was white! we had white feathers and rose petals everywhere, silver crystals and silver butterflies in memory of my nana and candles and white bubble balloons lining the aisle.
We chose for the ballroom to be bright natural light for the ceremony and then we chose to have a candlelit dimmed reception. We felt it gave of a completely different feel for both parts of the wedding and felt that the reception was particularly romantic!
Choosing our florist was a no brainer, We chose to use the florist that supplied the flowers for my Mum and Dad’s edding, my Auntie’s wedding and my Granddad’s wedding. Also the flowers for my Nana’s funeral came from here so it was a family affair which felt quite special as I attached my Nana’s photo and MBE badge on to my bouquet so she was with me as I walked down the aisle.
We used fleur florists on King street Belper
Firstly our main menu. As if turning around a wedding in 3 months isnt enough I also decided I wanted our guests to have a choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts. I have been to a few weddings before where it was a set starter main and dessert and i know not everybody liked it so I wanted to make sure everyone had something they loved and their own choice as the best bit about Amalfi White is their 5 star food!
This meant we had to create my own menus from scratch and send it out to every guest individually, wait for their choices to be returned to us, then create a tally chart of who was having what and get it in to Amalfi White in plenty of time for them to know what they needed.
We had gorgeous canapes such as King Prawns, Baby Steaks, Risotto Balls and Aubergine and Feta Tarts along with Pimms or Peroni on arrival.
Our wedding cake was made by a friend of mine Sally. Sally is just starting out her own cake business which she is doing for a hobby. She is unbelievably talented and the fact that she made it meant so much more to me than just choosing a cake shop. Not only do her cakes taste amazing they are literally works of art. Our cake was covered in white petals to stick with our theme and she hand made each and every one! I recommend anyone planning their wedding to give her a call because no hassle is too much and she will give you ideas you haven’t even thought off!
Last but not least the Photographer and Videographer!
Our photographer was called David Barrett, We found him last minute just through a recommended Facebook site. He was fab, really helpful and we even got a free engagement shoot with our package which was great meaning we got to work with him before the day and get comfortable in front of his camera.
Unfortunately i don’t have a link to his website but on facebook search for ‘photos by David’.
Growing up I have probably watched my Mum and Dad’s wedding video 100 times over so having a wedding videographer to us was more important than a photographer. We want to be able to watch our wedding film back time and time again and have it on hand to show to our future children and to people that couldn’t make our special day due to us bringing it forward to a week day!
I searched and searched the internet for videographers and I was recommended a few by people on Facebook however one morning i noticed a little comment on one of my instagram photos from Chris telling me to check out ‘Perfect Moment Films’. As soon as I watched one highlight trailer I was hooked, I think I have watched every one at least twice!
We booked and chose them purely for what we could see for ourselves! We didn’t know anyone who had gone with them before but we knew that we weren’t taking a risk. The proof is in the highlight trailers so I can only imagine how good our video will be!
On our wedding day I didn’t even notice that they were there, they got on and did what they needed to do. I can only honestly remember saying hi and bye to them! Everything is done so discreetly and if I have any big events again that I need a videographer for I would use them again without hesitation.
